Food and Nutrition Services

Food and Nutrition Services is dedicated to providing Broward County students with balanced, nutritious meals that support their academic success. Our goal is to help students succeed by offering meals that promote healthy habits for life. We encourage students to "POWER-UP" with school breakfast and lunch, giving them the energy they need to focus, learn, and grow.

Meal Charge Procedure

Students are permitted to charge one meal to their meal account when funds are unavailable at the elementary school level. In middle schools, meal charges may be allowed at the discretion of the principal. Meal charging is not permitted in high schools. Parents/guardians are notified daily of any meal charge through an automated email, text message, and robocall.

Charge privileges are available only for regular school meals that qualify for reimbursement and cannot be used for additional or à la carte purchases.

Any student who has insufficient funds will be offered an alternate meal consisting of an Uncrustables® sandwich.

Students with unpaid meal charges must repay the outstanding balance before receiving their next reimbursable meal.

Parents/guardians can review balances, track purchases, and add funds online through MySchoolBucks.com or send cash/check directly to the school.

If your family is experiencing financial hardship or needs assistance applying for free or reduced-price meal benefits, please visit our Meal Benefits page for information and application assistance.
